“We must begin by recognizing that the future of Mexican manufacturing is closely linked to the performance of the Asian economy, so in such a scenario, how can we gain ground against Chinese industry? This was stated by the President of INDEX Nacional, Luis Manuel Hernández.
He recalled that since 2003, the participation of the Asian giant in total US manufacturing imports has been higher than that of Mexico for almost all subsectors, especially those that require advanced technology, however this year presents development opportunities for the sector that are not being used and that could give Mexico greater competitiveness.
He explained that there are several key elements that must be taken into account in order to maintain respectable competition between Mexico and China, especially if we take into account that Chinese products have gradually displaced Mexican products in both labor-intensive industries. as in those of greater technological complexity.
