In April of this year, the manufacturing plants in Mexico showed a recovery in their activity, compared to the same month last year, detailed figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) released this Wednesday.
In the second month of the year, the plant capacity used in the total manufacturing industries reached 82.4%, when in February 2021 it was reported to be 76.1%, according to the most updated Manufacturing Sector Indicators of the Inegi.
In the subsectors of the paper industry and the manufacture of accessories, electrical appliances and electrical power generation equipment, they reported the highest capacity index with 90.2%, in both cases, according to the Monthly Survey of the Manufacturing Industry.
According to the Inegi, this percentage indicates the relationship between the volume of production obtained by the economic units and the volume of production.
The manufacture of transportation equipment, one of the most important in the country, reached a capacity of 82.1%, when last year it reported 77.5%. Meanwhile, the manufacture of machinery and equipment reported an index of 86.8%, from 79.7% last year.
Meanwhile, the hours worked in manufacturing industries reported an increase of 0.3% compared to last January. Those corresponding to both workers and employees increased 0.4%.
