The good news for the port of Lazaro Cardenas continues, in December 2021, the Container Terminal I, operated by Hutchison Ports LCT reached an all-time high with a volume of 129,115 TEUs. The previous operating record is 122,330 TEUs and was handled in October 2012.
In this regard, the port of Lázaro Cárdenas stated that “the strategy and commercial efforts of the Hutchison Ports Group in Mexico continues to generate direct and indirect jobs in the region and has positioned its Container Terminal as a reality to handle import and export cargo for the national industry and to handle transshipment volumes to the lines shipping companies that have found in this terminal a real solution to their logistic chain of connection between Asia and Central and South America”.
