The industrial sector in Mexico managed to overcome a negative environment at the start of the second half of the year and recorded its best result in nine months, due to the resistance shown by the manufacturing sector.
Mexico’s industrial production increased 1.1% in July compared to June, in seasonally adjusted figures, which was its highest level since October last year, reported the National Institute of Statistics and Geography.
The result was higher than expected by analysts surveyed by the Infosel news agency, who predicted a seasonally adjusted monthly advance of 0.6% in July.
For analysts, the result was more than positive, as it came at a time when global manufacturing faces disruptions in supply chains due to the pandemic.
