According to the INEGI’s Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE), the economy of San Luis Potosí grew on average 22.2% during the third quarter of 2020, driven by mining and manufacturing.
This recovery placed the entity as the second economy in the Central-Bajío-western region, behind Aguascalientes, which reported a 22.9% growth in its economic activities.
Gustavo Puente Orozco, Secretary of Economic Development, said that despite the setback as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Potosine entity showed better growth compared to the national average, which was 7.7%.
